ARGH!!!!!!!

So, what season is it exactly? Along with the weather being totally ridiculous we also have had sickness after sickness lately. It feels like winter, you aren't supposed to get sick in the summer!! We just got over the cold/sinus bug and now we have THE FLU! ( As I wrote that I found myself pounding the keyboard in disgust) I was so sick yesterday, I just barely could get off the bathroom floor, it has been a long time since I have felt that bad. And last night we woke up to Braiden puking in his bed, he still feels pretty crummy. I am thankful that at least I am feeling better so that I can take care of him, but now we are waiting for the other kids to get it. Audrey isn't quite Audrey right now so I know that she should be right on schedule to get it soon, and Trevor always has to outdo everyone when it comes to getting sick so I am looking forward to that. YIPPEE!! Audrey's birthday is Sunday so I hope we are all over it by then. I hope that none of you get this horrible bug. YUK!!!!

The Wolfenbargers

Just a little glimpse at how the Wolfenbarger kids are doing, this is sissy sleeping on the floor this morning. This NEVER happens, so you can tell she just isn't feeling right.

Lets go fly a kite....

The new Kite.
So what else do you do when the Ellensburg Wind is blowing. The boys love flying kites, we normally buy the cheap ones from the dollar store. They last about as long as you would expect a dollar store item to last, about one use. But, last week we decided to splurge a little and bought a nicer kite at toys-r-us. The boys have had so much fun with it (can you tell that my biggest boy likes it a lot too!)

Firsts....

Greetings from the Wolfenbarger House. It has been a few days since the last post, so I figured it is about time I gave you an update on the kids.

First off, a quick bee update-it died, there was a brief time of grief, but after a few short minutes the grieving process was over and we were off to bigger and better bugs.

Second, Trevor is still Trevor (what more can I say), he still marches completely and totally to the beat of his own contrary drum.

And Lastly, Audrey is growing up, I know, some of you are probably thinking, duh Gemma, they do that. But she has had so many firsts the last couple of weeks that I wanted to share. Here is a list of just some of the many firsts:

* Standing without holding onto anything.

*Taking a first step and then quickly falling

*She has added to her vocabulary (it already consisted of mama, dada, no no, yeah & bye -bye) with the two words that brings great joy to a mothers heart,

"NO MINE"

(A little sarcasm)

*She got to flip her car seat to face forward like a big girl.

*Had her first ice cream cone. One just like her brothers, all by herself, in the car I might add. I know, a momentary laps of judgement, that I quickly regained as soon as I saw the giant mess she was making. Oh well, you only live once and to see the pure joy in her face as she ate it just like the big kids was worth the mess.

Next Sunday we have the big 1st Birthday, can you believe it, a whole year has gone by. Jeremy and I were taking last night about sis, and how when we found out I was pregnant I cried, not because we didn't want her but because we didn't know we wanted her (God has got a great sense of humor) and she was not something we felt we were ready for. We were in the middle of the giant undertaking of building our house and I thought being pregnant was defiantly not on the to do list. But with Gods grace and a lot of help from family we got the house done and were moved in 2 days before Audrey came into the world. As soon as we saw her beautiful face we both knew how amazing Gods plans for us was, and through the last year we remain continuously amazed.

We are so blessed by each one of our kids. I feel like we learn more from them than they could possibly ever learn from us. Even though my kids are small, it still feels like we are in fast forward, and our time with them is passing us by. So we are going to hold on to them and not take the time we have for granted because before we know it they will be grown up, and if you have kids I encourage you to do the same.

Should you be up there?

The Bee Boy...

We have been having lots of fun, the kids have been busy with just being kids.
I wanted to share a few short stories that have made Jeremy and I laugh.

*The Other day Braiden was sitting up at the bar telling us all about his day and what he did (mostly telling Jer, obviously I was with him all day so I already knew) and right in the middle of the story Trevor gets in between Jeremy and Braiden and Yells in true Trevor Fashion "I YUB POP" which means "I LOVE POP". It came out of nowhere, but that is how Trevor rolls. He definitely marches to his own drum!

*The second story is from Today. The kids were playing outside and Braiden found a Honey Bee. For those who are not around Braiden all the time, he is a vary sympathetic, caring little boy (don't let this confuse you, because he is also all boy, but if somebody is injured or sad he is quick to try to make them feel better). Well anyways, he found a bee that was in Braidens terms "IN-JUR-ED" in my terms it was "dead", but I couldn't burst his bubble so I let him believe it was injured, hoping that he would forget about it and move on to something else. But that wasn't the case, Braiden being the Bee Expert (because he has watched The Bee Movie) decides that all this "IN-JUR-ED" bee needed was Honey. So he got a cup filled it with dirt (so the bee would have a bed), put the bee into it and asked me for honey. I poured some honey into the cup and then tried to explain that the bee probably wasn't going to live, but no sooner than me saying that Braiden takes the Bee and shoves it into the honey so it can "eat it and get big and strong and then it well take a nap". So right now I have a "well fed" sleeping bee sitting out on the patio getting strong.

I have been wanting to get this on tape for awhile, but whenever we hear this song we are in the car. All the boys love this song and they are always belting it out at the top of their lungs. It is so fun to have Braiden and Kyle in the back of the car yelling at the top of their lungs "Oh, no, you never let Go". This time I didn't catch Kyle on film but I did get Braiden. The beautiful back up singing is our little friend Ella, check out the hymnal of Green Eggs and Ham. And no song is complete without Trevor playing Pop goes the Weasel and a nose picking, you have to laugh.

Have you ever read something and it stops you in you tracks.

Last week I stumbled onto this blog, I have no idea how I ended up here, except that My wonderful, faithful father led me.

I know this post might be strange for some of you to read, because I don't share my faith often, but please stay with me, because God is just too big not to share.

Let me start closer to the beginning, the last couple of weeks I have been vary disconnected to God. And with that disconnection I have tried to do things, fix things, or tried to make things better myself. Even though I liked the control I never felt like anything got accomplished. I think that the worst thing I have done is taken my children for granted. Sometimes when you get into the "grind" of things it is hard for you to see what is important. That is how I was, I have been close a few times to putting one or more of my kids up for sale on craigslist, and all I felt I could do was throw a pity-party for myself. And because I was in a time when I didn't want to turn to God, all that was accomplished is that I felt sorry for myself.

So, I "found" this blog, and it stopped me. God spoke through this mother in an indirect but clear way. Through reading her trials I felt myself not only wanting to hold tight to my kids but it also re-lite my heart for God. Not because this family was going through hardships, not because they were suffering but because through all of these things they still gave all the glory and praises to God.

I felt compelled to ask myself what would happen if something happened to one of my kids, would I be able to praise God or would I be angry with him. And the answer I kept coming up with, is that I would hope that I would run into his open arms and let him comfort me. Who else is bigger then God, nobody. Who else has felt great pain of loss, God. And without belief what else do you have?

This women was/is a great testimony, she through it all knew that her God/my God/ Your God can do anything and that we as Christians can take comfort in knowing that we will see our loved ones again in a greater place. I encourage you all to read this blog from the beginning and if you are anything like me you won't be able to leave your computer (I found myself staying up way to late many nights reading it) and please make sure you have a box of tissues handy. It is amazing how God works, he knew that I needed him and he led me to a place were he knew I would/could reconnect with him. Praise God!!!
