While we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about.

Do we even need Words............

Veterans Day Parade.......

Braiden's school did a parade for Veterans Day. It was quite a big deal, they had the Color Guard come, the High School Marching Band and all the classes made things to wear. Braidens class made the cute shirts and headbands. Then they all lined up and marched a few blocks with flags while the band played. People lined the streets; veterens, parents and other people from the community. They cheered and waved and the kids LOVED it, then there is an assemble after.
Look at all those cute Kinders!!
Trevor actually asked to have his picture taken!!

Soccer Stars

(Braiden, Cousin Kyle and Cousin Jarrett)
Here are the oldest cousins at the end of the soccer season! What a fun sport, and the kids came so far from the beginning of the season to the end!

Might we have a writer on our hands?

I took this picture out of amazement! Audrey loves to "write", she will ask for a pen and paper whenever she is "bored"! What is amazing to me is how she holds her pen, nobody showed her how she just started writing, this is something our boys are still struggling with (although they did things at her age that she doesn't do. SO after having both genders I am a STRONG believer in nature vs. nurture, they are just so different)

Halloween 2009

So, notice the lack of pictures for Halloween 2009.
I don't have any, that's why. I am not sure if it was my lack of enthusiasm for this specific holiday that then rubbed off on the kids, or if all of the ghosts and goblins around town scared them, or they just didn't care, but we just weren't into it. I was trying to be a "good mom" and started asking them what they might want to be, no answers, I was not going to push it, why buy a costume if I don't have to, right!

Braidens school didn't do dress up, they had a nursery rhyme party instead so everyone in his class wore pajamas. Pajamas we have, so I dodged a bullet then.
And Trevor, oh how I love this kid, thought getting into a costume was the dumbest thing we have ever told him (he is so his dad's child). He was NOT going to wear a costume to school, but I felt bad if he went and all the kids were in a costume and he wasn't, so I packed a train engineer dress up outfit in his backpack. He walked into school, and as all the kids are in their costumes he pulls his out of his backpack and shows everyone and then puts it back in, never putting it on (I guess he did put it on for a little of the party later but he was Not going to wear it any longer than he had to).

Jeremy worked Halloween day, so it was up to me to take the kiddos trick or treating, still no costumes, we went through our dress up box and the boys decided on knights, like last year. Our friend Becca let Audrey borrow a lady bug outfit, so I just assumed that she wouldn't care, to which she didn't care UNTIL we got downtown and saw all the princesses, and then she was MAD!

Downtown, was a disaster!!! Audrey didn't want her costume on, then she froze and it was so windy she just cried the whole time. Braiden and Trevor did good, it was just to busy and I felt I wasn't being able to watch all three closely and felt a little overwhelmed. We didn't stay to long, just long enough for the kids to get "enough" candy.

A sweet story; I took the boys in to a Realtors office that had been converted int a spooky house for trick or treating, and I really flunked the good mother award. In my defence I did see people with their really little kids going in and out so I thought it was OK, needless to say I should have walked through it first. Braiden was trying to be brave but you could just see it in his face that he was scared, there were witches popping out of doors and scary music. THIS is exactly why I don't like this "holiday", crazy as it sounds I like my kids to sleep, and NOT have nightmares. Well, as I am starting to panic that he is going to have nightmares at night, Braiden Vary loudly started to rebuke everything. He kept saying "I am a child of God and this scary stuff does not scare me, Get out of here all evil, in the name of Jesus!!" I was so proud and I felt like all of our bedtime talks really have helped him.

Preschool Pumpkin Patch 2009

So, third year but new child at the annual pumpkin patch for preschool. It was just as fun and well put together as years past.
Have I said how much I LOVE the kids preschool (OK, maybe in every preschool post, but I DO).
I am so thankful for my sister who took Audrey for me that mourning so I could enjoy the special time with Trev, he was a joy and definitely keeps me on my toes.
Trevor and his "best friend" James. He looks upset, but that is Trevor's "cheese face".
Having cookies and listening to some music.
I think I am a little bias, but what a handsome little boy.
James and Trevor.
"Mom, you got to go this way, you don't want to get lost!"
"No, I don't want to ride the baby horse, I want the big one!"

I temporarily lost my mind, but I was glad I did.....

We had all my nephews (my side, and all but Cruz, he is still a little too young) over for a sleep over. This was a big deal because we have never had them all over at the same time and this was the first time Jarrett and Tyce had spent the night.
Now when we have sleep overs they always are a big deal, we let the kids pick what they want for dinner, play games, and usually do "anyway you want it ice cream sundaes". This night was no different, except normally being in a house of boys the decibel level is high, but this was off the chart loud. 5 boys and 1 little girl trying to fit in with the boys we had a busy night; we made play dough, dinner (which I only made 4 different meals:), played outside where we became aliens and cops and bad guys, made the famous ice cream sundaes, and got all ready for bed. It was a fun night and I can't wait for many more of these. I have such special kids in my life and I look forward to watching them all grow. Thanks sisters!
